What’s Up Guys?
I hope you all had an awesome Christmas and New Year, mine was great. I spent a lot of time with my family, my friends, and the people that I love and now I’m ready to refocus on training. The New Year is going to kick in a big way for me as Next week I will be flying to Texas to meet up with one of my good friends and training partners, Frankie Alogna, who will be out there visiting family. After spending a few hours in Texas, we will be making the drive to Oklahoma City where I will be doing a Motivational Seminar at Oklahoma City Defensive Tactics on perspective and the power of perseverance for Mike Darter and his athletes as well as an area private school
I am pumped for this opportunity, not just to be able to speak to athletes ,share my story and insights, but for the training as well. Over the past few months, I’ve really been in “coach mode” focusing more on developing our kids program than myself. I really love working with the kids but its time to get back into “competitor mode” get back in shape, and start hitting up jiu-jitsu competitions and get back to feeling good. I think this trip will really help with that not only will we get the opportunity to train with Mike and his athletes, but we are planning on training at Abu Dhabi champion Rafael Lovato’s school and then since we are driving back to PA we want to hit up Ryan Hall’s school in Virgina.
I want to make traveling a top priority this year, so many people that I talk to tell me that they improved their “game” so much by traveling and training with some of the best there is. My own jiu-jitsu coach, Jeff elevated his talent level by doing nothing but traveling and following Royce from seminar to seminar. This might sound extreme but anything that is your passion is worth sacrificing for and in the end, it will make me a better competitor and a better coach which is the overall goal. Plus, its always good to get your hands on new training partners, people who don’t know what your going do, or have different insights than what your used to.
On the business side, I’ve been having a lot of great meetings and skype conferences with various people about the direction of this blog, DisabledGrappler LLC, and Doubt Me apparel and I gotta tell you, I’m really excited with what 2012 is going to bring. There is a ton of potential on the table
Alright guys, I’ll try to check in from the road. In the meantime, You can always “like” the Disabled Grappler Facebook page to keep up with me
Be good guys,
